Dear friends,

I am pleased to share an update on the exciting plans and preparations for this year’s JOTA-JOTI (Jamboree On The Air - Jamboree On The Internet), which centres on the theme of “Together for a Better World”. The event will take place from Friday, 14 October to Sunday, 16 October 2022 and will bring together millions of young people and volunteers from around the world for our largest Scouting event online and over the airwaves.

The registration for JOTA-JOTI 2022 is now open two months before the event, allowing time for young people, volunteers, National Scout Organization (NSOs) leadership and JOTA-JOTI Coordinators to get organised and participate in the event. Individuals or Scout groups can register through the online platform at and prepare to build a personalised schedule of activities that promote friendship and global citizenship during the weekend. Please note that children under the age of 13 must be registered by a parent, guardian, or Adult Leader.

NSOs and JOTA-JOTI Coordinators can already find an overview of the programme on the JOTA-JOTI website. It features a range of fun activities, including workshops, global campfires, talent performances, live shows, and amateur radio activities. Scouts can also build their knowledge and skills through sessions related to the environment, peace and community engagement, life skills, and health and well-being.

Three JOTA-JOTI Live! shows will be streamed on WOSM’s communications channels to offer more opportunities for young people and volunteers to connect, engage, and be part of the fun. More details about this year’s programme and open call for Youth Got Talent submissions will be announced soon.

As always, we are committed to putting on a safe and inclusive event for all participants, and have put in place a number of Safe from Harm measures throughout the event to ensure that everyone has a positive JOTA-JOTI experience. Listening Ears and other Safe from Harm volunteers will be available throughout JOTA-JOTI to respond to any concerns, and all participants can take the Be Safe Online Training available on the event website.

We encourage NSOs and JOTA-JOTI Coordinators to share the details about the opening of registration with local Scout groups and Adults in Scouting, and to make use of the Trello board of visual assets and graphics to promote the event among your members. Badges for JOTA-JOTI 2022 can also now be purchased through the official World Scout Shops

More information on the event, including how to join JOTA-JOTI through amateur radio and use the World Scout frequencies, will be provided on the JOTA-JOTI website so check back often for updates.

If you have any questions or need support for the event, please contact the JOTA-JOTI team at

Yours in Scouting,
