Antigua and Barbuda Scout Association declared a Member Organization of WOSM
On 24 August 2022, the World Scout Committee recommended through Circular 17/2022 that the Antigua and Barbuda Scout Association (ABSA), as the National Scout Organization (NSO) of Antigua and Barbuda, be accepted as a Member Organization of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) with voting rights.
By the deadline of 23:59 GMT on 23 November 2022, this recommendation was not opposed by any Member Organization.
Therefore, as of 24 November 2022, the Antigua and Barbuda Scout Association is now declared the 173rd Member Organization of WOSM, in accordance with Article VI.2 of the Constitution of WOSM.
On behalf of the World Scout Committee and all Scouts worldwide, I hereby congratulate the NSO of Antigua and Barbuda for achieving this important milestone. WOSM further wishes to recognise the support of the NSO of the United Kingdom in ABSA’s journey towards WOSM Membership.
We wish ABSA all the best in the further expansion of Scouting in Antigua and Barbuda as they continue to enable more young people to become active citizens who are making an impact in their communities.
Yours in Scouting,
World Organization of the Scout Movement
