The World Scout Bureau Global Support Centre, Kuala Lumpur was officially opened on 18 June 2014 by the Prime Minister of Malaysia. It serves as a shared service centre for the global operations of WOSM. The global operations comprise Scouting Development, Organizational Development, Communications & External Relations, and Finance & Administration. It also houses the Office of the Secretary General of WOSM. The fully-operational office hosts some 30 staff members from multiple nationalities, working closely with the World Scout Bureau Regional Offices to provide support to 169 National Scout Organizations (NSOs) which are members of WOSM. With the new office in Kuala Lumpur, the World Scout Bureau’s global network of offices has expanded to eight locations worldwide — Brussels, Cairo, Geneva, Kiev, Kuala Lumpur, Makati City, Nairobi and Panama City — thus allowing WOSM to be as close as possible to the NSOs. The legal seat of WOSM remains in Geneva, Switzerland.
