APR Workshop on Crisis Communication and Reputation Management

We are glad to announce that the Asia-Pacific Region is organizing the APR Workshop on Crisis Communication and Reputation Management in Maldives. This event is part of the APR Plan 2022-2025 under the Communications and External Relations strategic priority with the objective of strengthening capacities of NSOs in different facets of communications including crisis communication and reputation management.

 

This workshop will be a learning avenue for all interested participants to ensure that the brand, image and reputation of Scouting are kept intact amidst any crisis that NSOs would encounter. 

 

Here are the details of the workshop:

            Dates:  22-25 February 2023, arrival on 21st and departure on 26th February

Delivery Mode: In-person

Venue:  Maldives

Registration FeeUSD250.00 per participant to cover accommodation (twin sharing), food for the workshop duration, airport reception, transfer from airport to venue and back, educational tour within workshop, and materials

 

Aim of the Workshop

This workshop is aimed at enhancing strategies in coping with crisis communication and reputation management, including the creation of a crisis communications plan for NSOs.

 

Learning Objectives

1.  Identify ways on how to manage Scouting’s brand and good reputation 

2.  Replicate best practices of NSOs that have done crisis management

3.  Collaborate with communicators within WOSM on how to support and be supported when the need arises.

4.  Develop a crisis communications plan for NSOs as guide for crisis situations.

 

Target Participants

This workshop is expected to gather national and sub-national level participants from NSOs across the Asia-Pacific Region who are in-charge of Communications, Public Relations, Branding, and other related work or engagement. Scout Leaders who are responsible for other areas such as Safe from Harm, Youth Programme, Adults in Scouting, and Governance are also welcome. Interested parties from beyond the Asia-Pacific Region are welcome subject to the confirmation by the Asia-Pacific Support Centre.

National Scout organizations are encouraged to promote this event within their national and sub-national networks, and to submit the name of their participants by 31 December 2022 using the attached reply slip.
