Guidelines on Spiritual Development in the Youth Programme

Spiritual development is a relevant aspect of the development and education of young people. National Scout Organizations can use this newly published Guidelines on Spiritual Development in the Youth Programme to support young people in gaining the knowledge, skills and attitudes to enhance their spiritual development.

These Spiritual Development Guidelines were updated in 2020, in line with developments in Scouting over the last 10 years and including two new sections:

  • The first one sets out an understanding of spiritual development that will guide NSO’s in programme planning and refresh their thinking about how Scouts and leaders can respond to the challenge of spiritual development.
  • The second one introduces relevant learning opportunities for inter-religious dialogue, that can be used at a local and national level.
